What we ask about your Subaru
Requirements vary by model, year and engine, so a quote that ignores those is a guess. These are the things that actually change the figure.
That it is all-wheel drive
Almost all of them are, and it matters most when a tyre is destroyed. On a permanent all-wheel-drive car the four tyres need to be close in rolling circumference, so replacing one badly worn tyre on its own can load the driveline. Subaru publishes a tolerance for this in its owner material; how tight it is varies by model and driveline. We will measure the others before recommending one tyre, two, or the set.
The model, year and engine
Forester, Outback, XV and WRX cover very different states of tune and very different service content. The build year matters as much as the badge, because the driveline and the transmission changed across generations.
Which transmission it has
Many are a continuously variable transmission, which has its own specified fluid and its own service position in the schedule. A manual does not. Tell us which you have, or we will check before quoting.
The logbook
Bring it if you have it. We follow the schedule in it, stamp it and keep our own record of what was done and what we found.

Subarus come through here regularly and the all-wheel drive is the thing that most often surprises owners, usually at the worst moment, when one tyre has been ruined by a kerb or a nail and the cheapest-looking answer is to replace only that one.
We will measure the tread on all four before we tell you what to do. Sometimes one tyre is genuinely fine. Sometimes it is not, and we will say so and explain why, with the numbers, rather than simply selling you four.
Service content comes out of your own logbook and varies by model, year and engine. We follow it and write down everything we find, priced, whether or not you asked.

Can I replace just one tyre on my Subaru?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. On a permanent all-wheel-drive car the four tyres should be close in rolling circumference, so it depends how worn the other three are. We measure all four and tell you what we find. If one is fine we will say so.
Do you service the CVT?
We service it where your schedule specifies it, using the fluid the manufacturer specifies. If you are not sure whether your car has one, tell us the model and year and we will check before quoting.
