What gets checked
You need a pink slip to renew registration on a vehicle more than five years old. It is an eSafety inspection, and the result goes straight to Transport for NSW electronically. You do not carry a piece of paper anywhere.
- Braking, measured on the roller brake tester wheel by wheel
- Tyres, tread depth and condition on all four plus the spare
- Steering and suspension, on the hoist with the weight off
- Lights, with headlight aim and intensity set on the beam tester
- Windscreen, wipers and window tint against the NSW limit
- Seatbelts, exhaust, body condition and structural rust

Do I need a pink slip or a blue slip?
Pink slip if you are renewing registration on a vehicle over five years old. Blue slip if the vehicle is not currently registered in NSW. Ring with the plate and we will tell you in about twenty seconds.
What happens if my car fails?
You keep the report, and for the work we do you get an itemised written quote on the spot. Approve the repair and we do it and re-inspect here. Decline it and you pay only the inspection fee.
How long is a pink slip valid?
Six months from the date of inspection. You can get it done up to six months before your registration is due, so there is no rush on the last week.
Do I need to book?
No. We are open every day from 8am to 6pm and take pink slips as they come in. Booking just means you are not waiting behind anyone.
