Details
Servicing here does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards. We follow the schedule, use appropriate parts, stamp the logbook and keep the records.
How we service your Volvo
- Your manufacturer's service schedule, for your model, year and engine
- Oil carrying your engine's approval code, from Liqui Moly, Penrite, Motul, Castrol, Mobil and Valvoline
- OE-specification filters from Mann, Mahle, Ryco and Bosch
- Service indicator reset
- Logbook stamped and the records kept
- Price confirmed for your car before any work starts
What can change the price
Service schedule
Volvo Australia services every 15,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first, and says missed maintenance can affect warranty cover on the parts involved. Your car's own logbook is the final word for your model.
What a generic service misses
- Four-cylinder or five/six-cylinder
- Volvo is clear that the 0W-20 oil for the four-cylinder engines must never go into a five- or six-cylinder, so the engine comes first.
- The timing belt on Drive-E engines
- The four-cylinder Drive-E engines run a belt, not a chain, with a time limit as well as a distance limit.
- Battery checks need the car's own readout
- On 2016-on models, Volvo requires a readout and battery test before charging or replacing the 12-volt battery.
Needs a scan tool: Service reminder reset · Electronic parking brake retract mode for rear brakes · Battery readout and test
What moves the figure
- How much oil your engine takes
- Engines take different amounts. Yours always gets its full fill, and the price is confirmed for your car.
- The oil your engine needs
- We use the specification your manufacturer sets, from Liqui Moly, Penrite, Motul, Castrol, Mobil and Valvoline. The grade and the brand change the figure.
- Your oil filter
- A less common or dearer filter changes the figure. If a part has to be ordered in, we tell you when we call.
- What your schedule calls for
- Other filters, spark plugs or fluids due at this service are extra items, priced before we start.
You stay in the driver's seat.
Choose your service
Basic or European servicing, or tyres. Not sure? Pick “something else” and tell us what's going on.
Give us your rego
Or your tyre size. That is how we look up your car and what it takes.
We call you back
With the price for your car and a time that suits. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
Which oil does my Volvo take?
The one carrying your engine's approval. On Volvo that is usually VCC RBS0-2AE and ACEA A5/B5, depending on the engine. We confirm it from your rego before quoting.
How often does a Volvo need a service?
Volvo Australia services every 15,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first, and says missed maintenance can affect warranty cover on the parts involved. Your car's own logbook is the final word for your model.
Will servicing here affect my new-car warranty?
No. Servicing at an independent workshop does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards. We follow the schedule, stamp the logbook and keep the records.
Details
We are not a Volvo dealer and Volvo has not authorised this workshop. We are an independent workshop that services to the manufacturer's schedule and records what went in.
Among the most common Volvos on Australian roads: XC40, XC60, XC90 and S60 / V60. Whichever you drive, send the rego and we confirm the engine, the oil approval and the price before anything is booked.
Volvo oil approvals
- VCC RBS0-2AE · 0W-20
- Four-cylinder Drive-E petrol engines, about 2014 on (XC40, XC60, XC90, S60, V60)
- ACEA A5/B5 · 5W-30
- Older five- and six-cylinder engines. RBS0-2AE must never go in these
