Before we quote
What we ask about your Mazda
Requirements vary by model, year and engine, so a quote that ignores those is a guess. These are the things that actually change the figure.
Petrol or diesel
Mazda sells the same body with either, and they are not the same service. A diesel has a particulate filter in the exhaust that needs to be able to regenerate, and that depends heavily on the sort of driving the car does. Tell us which you have and roughly how far you drive at a time.
The model and build year
A CX-5, a Mazda3 and a BT-50 share a badge and very little else. The BT-50 in particular is a different vehicle underneath depending on its generation. The build date on the compliance plate settles which one we are quoting.
Whether it is mostly short trips
Short runs are hard on any engine and harder on a diesel, because the exhaust may never get hot enough to clear the filter properly. It is not a fault, it is a duty cycle, and it changes what we check and how often.
The logbook
Bring it or tell us where it is. We stamp it, write down what was done and keep our own record, which is what protects the service history if anyone ever questions it.

Mazda is a common badge here and the jobs are familiar, which means we can usually quote one accurately from the rego and the model. It does not mean we are a Mazda dealer or that Mazda has authorised this workshop in any way.
We will not publish a service interval for your car. Mazda specifies it by model, engine and duty in the book that came with the vehicle, and the figure for a diesel doing short suburban trips is not the figure for a petrol doing highway kilometres. Read us the details and we will tell you what is actually due.
Anything we find is written down, priced, and left to you to decide on. Nothing gets done because it was on a checklist.

Will servicing my Mazda here affect the warranty?
Per the ACCC, servicing by an independent repairer does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards. We follow the schedule, use appropriate parts, stamp and record. Check your warranty booklet for its own terms.
Do you service Mazda diesels?
Yes. Tell us it is a diesel when you book. The service itself differs, and we will also ask about your driving, because a car that only does short trips needs a different conversation about the exhaust filter than one that sees open road.
Can you quote from just the rego?
Usually we will come back and ask for the model and build year as well. A rego alone does not tell us the engine, and the engine is what decides the oil, the filter and the price.
