What we ask about your BMW
Requirements vary by model, year and engine, so a quote that ignores those is a guess. These are the things that actually change the figure.
What the car is reporting
Most modern BMWs use condition-based servicing, where the vehicle monitors individual items and reports each one separately, so oil, filters and other wear items can fall due at different times. We read that data rather than quoting a blanket service, which usually means you pay for less.
The engine variant
The oil specification follows the exact engine, not the model name. We confirm the variant before quoting so the figure holds.
The model and build year
BMW has revised drivetrains substantially within a single model generation. The build plate tells us which we are dealing with and what parts fit.
Service history
What has been done and when. Condition-based data plus a real history is a far better basis for advice than either on its own.

The useful thing about a BMW is that it keeps track of its own service items individually, and the useful thing we can do is read that honestly and quote only what is actually due.
That often means a smaller invoice than an owner expects. It occasionally means a larger one, because something has fallen due that a distance-based schedule would have missed.
We are independent and not authorised by BMW. We meet the specification, record what we fitted, and tell you what the car reported.

Will an independent service affect my BMW warranty?
No. Per the ACCC, independent servicing does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the manufacturer's standards are met. We meet the schedule and specification, and document it.
Can you read the service data?
Yes. That is the starting point for the quote rather than an afterthought, and it is why we will often quote less than a flat annual service.
Do you use specification-correct oil?
Yes, matched to the exact engine variant, which is why we ask for it before quoting. The invoice records what was used.
