What we ask about your Honda
Requirements vary by model, year and engine, so a quote that ignores those is a guess. These are the things that actually change the figure.
What the maintenance display is showing
Many Hondas built in the last decade or so calculate service needs from how the car has actually been driven and show a code rather than a plain interval. Whether yours does depends on the model and year. That code says what is due. Read it to us, or bring the car in and we will read it, instead of assuming a distance.
The model, year and engine
Honda has sold quite different engines under similar names, including turbocharged versions, and the oil specification follows the engine rather than the badge.
Which transmission it has
Several use a continuously variable transmission with its own specified fluid. Others do not. We will confirm before quoting.
The logbook or service record
Bring whatever you have. We record what was done and what we found, and keep our own copy alongside the stamp.

Servicing here does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards. We follow the schedule, use appropriate parts, stamp the logbook and keep the records.

The most common misunderstanding with a Honda is the maintenance display. Owners are often told a flat distance by someone who has not looked at the car, when the car itself has already worked out what it needs from how it has been driven.
We read it, tell you what it is asking for, and quote that. If it is asking for less than you expected, you pay for less.
We are independent and not authorised by Honda. We follow the manufacturer's requirements, use parts and fluids that meet the specification, and document it.
Straight answers
Honda questions
What do the codes on the dash mean?
They are the car's own maintenance list, worked out from how it has been driven. Each letter and number corresponds to a specific item. Read them to us over the phone and we will tell you what is due and what it costs.
Should I just service it every six months anyway?
Not necessarily, and doing so may cost you money for no benefit. Let the car tell us what it needs, and let the book set the time-based limits. We will tell you if the two disagree.
Will servicing here affect the warranty?
No. Dealership servicing cannot be required as a warranty condition under Australian Consumer Law, provided the manufacturer's schedule is followed with appropriate parts. We do that and record it.

Where these claims come from
- Servicing at an independent workshop does not affect your consumer guarantees, and manufacturer warranties generally do not require dealer servicing where the work meets the manufacturer's standards.
- ACCC, Independent repairers factsheet (New Car Retailing Industry market study)
- Service schedules, oil specifications and intervals are set by the manufacturer for your specific model, year and engine.
- The logbook or service booklet supplied with your vehicle. We work from that rather than publishing an interval here.
- Manufacturers must make service and repair information available to independent repairers.
