The model, year and engine
Holden sold a very wide range and sourced vehicles from several places, so the badge tells us the least of any make on this list. The build plate tells us what we are actually working on.
How long you plan to keep it
This changes the advice, not the service. On an older vehicle there is a point where a repair costs more than the car is worth to you, and you are the only person who can decide where that point is. We will give you the figures to decide with.
Whether it has been sitting
Cars that sit deteriorate differently to cars that are driven: fluids, rubber, seals and fuel all suffer. If it has been parked for a long stretch, tell us, because the first service after that is a different job.
Any known history
Previous repairs, what was replaced and when, anything that has been living with a noise. On a vehicle of this age, history saves guesswork, and guesswork is what costs you money.

Holden is gone as a brand but the cars are still here and still need servicing, so we still do it. The difference is parts: for some models they are as easy as ever, and for others availability has genuinely tightened.
We will tell you which situation your car is in before we start, not after we have it in pieces. If a part is going to be slow or expensive, you should know that while the car is still drivable.
No affiliation, obviously, and no dealer network to refer you to. What we have is the diagnostic equipment and trade accounts that still cover these vehicles.

Can you still get parts for it?
For many models, yes, through the same trade suppliers as anything else. For some, availability has tightened and a part may take longer or cost more. We check before quoting and tell you what we find rather than discovering it halfway through.
Is it worth fixing?
That is your call, and we will give you the numbers to make it: what it costs, what it buys you, and what else is close to needing attention. We will not talk you into spending more than the car is worth to you.
Can it still pass a pink slip?
Age is not a barrier; condition is. We do the inspection here and we will tell you exactly what failed and what it takes to fix it, with a price for the work we do, before you decide.
