Both registration inspections are done here: the pink slip is $52 and the blue slip $82. The pink slip inspection is carried out on a hoist with a roller brake tester, then lodged electronically with Transport for NSW. For the blue slip, the VIN, engine number and compliance plate are checked against your paperwork. If the car fails on work we do, you get an itemised written quote on the spot. For a whole-of-car report, the vehicle health check is $99, covering braking, tyres, fluids, steering and suspension in writing. Diagnosis is free. You only pay if you approve the repair.

Do I need a pink slip or a blue slip?
Renewing registration on a vehicle over five years old calls for a pink slip. A vehicle that is not currently registered in NSW needs a blue slip instead, for example when registration expired more than three months ago or the vehicle has come from interstate.
