What a free diagnosis covers
Most workshops charge for the hour it takes to find a fault, then credit it back if you go ahead. We stopped doing that. You get the diagnosis, you get the quote, and you decide with nothing already spent.

Is it really free, even if I do not book the repair?
Yes. Diagnosis is free. You only pay if you approve the repair. You keep the written fault path and the quote either way, and you are welcome to take them elsewhere.
How long does it take?
The free diagnosis is up to 30 minutes on the scan tool and hoist, and most faults show themselves in that time. If finding it means taking something apart, or catching an intermittent fault in the act, we quote that first and ring you before any of it starts.
Does that include a full inspection?
A diagnosis targets the fault you came in with. For a whole-of-car report use the vehicle health check, $99, which covers braking, tyres, fluids, steering and suspension in writing.
What if the fault does not show up?
Then we say so rather than replacing something hopefully. Sometimes the answer is to leave it with us for a day so we can drive it from cold. We agree that with you, and quote anything beyond the free 30 minutes, before it happens.
